1) Night Out With CampVision - 16 October 2010 (Saturday)

Gather your friends andcome down to O'Learys @ Singapore Flyer for a fun-filled night out! Singapore's favourite live band, 9estalt, will be playing acoustic/unplugged sets on the night and in collaboration with O'Learys, raise funds in support of CampVision Expedition Agape! Enjoy great music, dine and wine for a great, great cause! With kind compliments from the management of O'Learys, 20% of the proceeds from food and drinks will go towards Campvision Expedition to sponsor underprivileged and at-risk youths in Singapore on a 6 months mentorship and leadership programme that will give them the chance to make a difference overseas to the impoverished community in Sikkim, India in Dec 2010.

2) Charity Movie Night : "Freedom Writers" - 22 and 29 October (Fridays), 8pm to 10pm

Join us for our charity movie screening, showing noted film "Freedom Writers". "Freedom Writers" is inspired by a true story and the diaries of real Long Beach teenagers after the Los Angeles riots, during the worst outbreak of interracial gang warfare. Two time Academy Award winner, Hilary Swank, stars as Erin Gruwell whose passion to become a teacher is soon challenged by her Black, Latino and Asian students who hate her more than they hate each other. When Erin begins to listen to them in a way no adult has ever done, she begins to understand that for these kids, getting through the day alive is enough -- they are not delinquents but teenagers fighting "a interracial war of the streets" that begun long before they were born. Erin gives them something they never had from a teacher before -- respect. For the first time, these teens experience a hope that maybe they might show the world that their lives matter and they might have something to say.
